In the United States, more than 7 million people have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. However, for their caregivers and us, they are more than numbers.
This site is designed to provide hope to the caregivers of loved ones living with the relentless disease of Alzheimer’s or with other mind-altering diseases. Navigatingalzheimersdisease.com is a faith-based site, but all are invited to take refuge within this community of empathetic followers.
Unfortunately, there is a certain stigma associated with diseases that affect brain function. But, not here. Navigating Alzheimer’s disease exists for the encouragement of caregivers who feel helpless in the wake of a disease that leaves no one untouched. Each patient represents a host of individuals; loved ones forced into a battle they never wanted, to face a relentless foe in a war that will not be won.
Your battle matters to us and to God, whose eye is on each sparrow that falls. Our goal is to assist you. Perhaps, in some small way, we can help shoulder your burden as you navigate the twists and turns of Alzheimer’s disease.
“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.” Isaiah 43:2 (ESV)
